Advanced training of Georgian aviation specialists at the National Aviation University

Within the framework of long-term cooperation with Georgian aviation specialists, the Educational and Research Institute of Continuing Education of the National Aviation University held advanced training courses on the program "Airfield Flight Support" on June 10-14, 2024 at the customer's base in Tbilisi. The course participants were the management and engineering staff of the airfield services of the international airports of Tbilisi and Batumi. The course instructors were Mykola Shynkarchuk, deputy director of the ERICE, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor, and Volodymyr Urilov, leading specialist of the ERICE.

Most of the applicants had previously attended similar courses conducted by the NAU in 2018. However, due to the entry into force of new ICAO and EASA regulations, the course program has undergone significant changes. In particular, the program included provisions on the aircraft classification parameter system - the classification parameter of coverage (ACR - PCR) in accordance with the ICAO course OAPSR/056.

The applicants were provided with the competencies necessary to manage the transition from the Aircraft Classification Number - Coverage Classification Number (ACN - PCN) to ACR - PCR. The program also covered the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method of assessing the condition of airfield pavements. The applicants learned about European standards in the field of asphalt pavement construction and other modern approaches in the field of airfield maintenance.

The courses resulted in an agreement on further cooperation between Georgian aviation experts and the National Aviation University.
