Welcome the State University "Kyiv Aviation Institute"!

On November 7, the World Science Day for Peace and Development, our university restored its historical name: Kyiv Aviation Institute, which began training future pilots and engineers in 1933.

The State University "Kyiv Aviation Institute" has become the first state university in Ukraine to acquire the organizational and legal status of a state non-profit enterprise. The government approved the relevant resolution on September 6, 2024, and exactly two months later, it was implemented in practice. This new status allows the university greater freedom in managing its earned funds, making payments promptly, and revising salaries, enabling it to attract top specialists and educators not only from Ukraine.

"By restoring the historical name to the Aviation Institute, we have opened a new chapter in its history. KAI is the full legal successor of NAU, but at the same time, Kyiv Aviation is introducing new management principles. This is about broader opportunities offered by the status of a state non-profit enterprise, as well as new approaches to the educational process. These changes are not only significant for the Aviation Institute but for higher education in Ukraine as a whole. Currently, the Aviation Institute is becoming a flagship of reform in higher education, and the success of these reforms will determine how the educational process in Ukraine evolves in the coming years," commented acting president of KAI, Kseniia Semenova.
