The first meeting of the Supervisory Board of the National Aviation University: the beginning of work, issues discussed
On January 25, 2024, the first meeting of the newly established Supervisory Board of the National Aviation University took place at the NAU.
The meeting was opened by Petro Chernyshov, chairman of the Supervisory Board of the NAU, who congratulated all members and participants of the meeting on the start of full-fledged activities and presented the procedure and regulations of the Supervisory Board. Also, Mykhailo Fedorov, vice prime minister, Minister of Digital Transformation, congratulated all the participants of the first meeting on the start of work, wishing them success in such an important and large-scale project, great achievements and focus on a winning result.
At the first meeting, the areas, topics for discussion and voting included issues related to the activities, powers and priorities of the Supervisory Board. For this purpose, representatives of the leading consulting company Ernst & Young, which is a member of the working group on development, transformation processes at the NAU, change management and provides consulting services to the Supervisory Board in the field of building effective management at the university, were invited to the meeting. The first meeting's agenda included strengthening the university's management team. The Supervisory Board will pay attention to personnel issues and significant improvement of the efficiency of the NAU-KAI team at each meeting.
The meeting also reviewed and discussed in detail the 2024 Admission Campaign: features and potential innovations, challenges of conducting the admission campaign in wartime, opportunities and advantages of NAU-KAI for applicants who plan to choose our university for higher education, development programs for future and existing students, interaction with leading companies in various industries that can create additional opportunities for training and practical skills, internships, improving the material and technical base of the university. They also discussed the communication and marketing component of this year's admission campaign, etc.
The meeting lasted for almost 4 hours, during which they discussed issues and made decisions important for improving the efficiency of the university and the quality of education.
"The inaugural meeting of the NAU Supervisory Board took place, and a lot of work has begun. I consider this a significant event, because for the first time a truly independent Supervisory Board works at the university. Nowadays, National Aviation University is the flagship of higher education reform, so it is extremely important for us to get a positive result, everyone is focused on this. The pilot of corporate governance implementation at NAU-KAI will be used to draw conclusions and scale up the entire higher education system of Ukraine," said Roman Hryshchuk, deputy chairman of the NAU Supervisory Board, member of the Committee on Education, Science and Innovation.
The Supervisory Board will meet twice a month.
As a reminder, the NAU Supervisory Board consists of seven members; you can find the full composition of the Supervisory Board and more information about each member here.
All the news about the activities of the NAU Supervisory Board, as well as important announcements and meeting results, will now be available on the NAU official website, in a special section of the NAU Supervisory Board.
