On May 8, on the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism, the Department of History and Documentation of the Faculty of Linguistics and Social Communications hosted a scientific roundtable with international participation "Documentation, use and expanding of information during the wars: historical retrospective and challenges of the present". The event was co-organized by the New State Archives of Lithuania, headed by Director Danite Kontrimaviciene.

The event began with a welcoming speech by the acting dean of the FLSC, doctor of pedagogical sciences, associate professor Natalia Melnyk and the deputy dean, candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor Anzhelika Kokareva, head of the Department of History and Documentation, doctor of historical sciences, professor Iryna Turmenko.

Before the roundtable, Canadian documentary filmmaker Maksym Khomenko spoke about the history of the documentary Unbreakable, which tells the story of Ukraine during the war waged by the Russian aggressor. The participants of the event had the opportunity to watch a fragment of the film, which is being prepared for the screening.

Danite Kontrimaviciene, Director of the New State Archives of Lithuania, and Pukėnas Jokubas, PhD student and archivist of the Document Storage and Information Department, made a joint presentation on the history of the Lithuanian Independence Act of March 11, 1990, and measures taken to preserve it during the Soviet invasion in January 1991.

Maryna Palienko, doctor of historical sciences, professor, head of the Department of Archival Studies and Special Branches of Historical Science at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, revealed the importance of the archivist's profession and the role of documentary heritage in shaping collective memory in the context of documenting the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Director of the Central State Audiovisual and Electronic Archive, candidate of historical sciences Tetiana Yemelianova emphasized the need for new approaches to the examination of the value of audiovisual documents of the war period and spoke about the work of archivists in documenting audiovisual information.

Larysa Levchenko, director of the Central State Archive of Higher Bodies of Power and Administration of Ukraine, doctor of historical sciences, professor, highlighted the measures taken to preserve the Act of Independence of Ukraine on the first day of the war and the experience of archiving operational information from the websites of state bodies, which contributed to the creation of a chronicle of their activities during the war.

Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor, chief research scientist at the I.F. Kuras Institute of Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Tetiana Bevz spoke about the role of the Ukrainian postage stamp in recording the events of the war and its symbolic meaning.

Valeria Pokliatska, PhD in History, head of the Department of Formation of NAF with Audiovisual Documents of the Central State Audiovisual and Electronic Archive, highlighted the practical experience, legal norms and communication tools used in the acquisition of documents about the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Doctor of historical sciences, professor, head of the Department of History and Documentation of the NAU FLSC Iryna Turmenko presented the French experience in studying the transformation of individual and collective memory of the terrorist attack of November 13, 2015 in Paris.

Candidates of historical sciences, associate professors of the Department of History and Documentation of the FLSC Liudmyla Bozhuk and Lesia Khaletska made a comparative analysis of the recording of war events and their presentation on the websites of state institutions of Ukraine and Poland.

The scientific roundtable was attended by candidates of historical sciences, associate professors of the Department of History and Documentation of the FLSC NAU Natalia Bem, Oleh Zakharchuk, Olena Isaykina, Tetiana Kurchenko, Yana Chepurenko, Olha Yurchenko, senior lecturers Oksana Ilkova, Zhanna Paskal.
