ICAO Institute held a course on aviation safety management for airline executives from Ukraine, Moldova and Azerbaijan


On May 20-21, 2024, the ICAO Institute of the National Aviation University successfully conducted the course "ICAO Systematic Approach to Aviation Safety Management for the Management of Aviation Entities". The event brought together representatives of the management of leading airlines and airports of Ukraine, Moldova and Azerbaijan.
The group of listeners included:
- Roman Zabarchuk, deputy CEO of ANTONOV Company;
- Igor Lazarev, director of MOTOR SICH JSC; and
- Igor Ivanov, director of Air Taurus Airlines LLC;
- Anatoliy Zdebskyi, head of Flight Safety at VULCAN AIR ACADEMY LLC;
- Evelina Dudnyk, quality and safety manager, national inspector, AEROPORT HANDLING SRL (Chisinau, Moldova);
- Burhan Gurbani, maintenance inspector at SILK WAY AIRLINES (Baku, Azerbaijan).
The course was conducted by ICAO instructor, deputy director of the Educational and Research Institute of International Cooperation and Education of the NAU, doctor of economics, corresponding member of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine, professor of the Department of Logistics Dmytro Bugayko.
The purpose of the training program was to prepare the management of aviation companies and persons responsible for the development and implementation of an aviation safety management system in organizations. The course covered the organization of preventive aviation safety measures, threat identification and risk assessment, development of risk assessment methods, and implementation of safety monitoring based on the performance of the safety system.
In his address, Oleh Petrovskyi, director of the ICAO Institute, PhD in Economics, emphasized that this course is another step in the implementation of the programs of long-term cooperation between the National Aviation University and aviators from Azerbaijan and Moldova, as well as the retraining program for the management of Ukrainian aviation companies. The goal is to maintain global, regional and nationally agreed levels of aviation safety.
The students received positive feedback and expressed their desire to continue cooperation with the ICAO NAU Institute in the future.
