The second lecture of the author's course by top manager and economist Pavlo Sheremeta was held at the Faculty of International Relations
Pavlo Sheremeta, deputy chairman of the Global Council on Ukraine at the World Economic Forum, former Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, gave the second lecture "Creative Destruction and Non-Destructive Creation" as part of the author's course "Strategy of Innovation" for students and teachers of the National Aviation University.
The lecturer spoke about the process of creating new projects by changing, transforming, and destroying existing structures, ideas, and concepts. He noted that competition makes campaigns more innovative. Pavlo Sheremeta spoke about the "hockey stick" effect, which marks the growth of companies that have chosen the right goals and priorities. He also noted that a successful startup may be little known for a few years, but after a certain point, having attracted large investments, it becomes very popular.
Pavlo Sheremeta discussed the positive correlation between GDP per capita growth and patents. The speaker drew attention to the increase in the number of patents granted due to rapid technological progress and growing interest in innovation.
The lecture also focused on job creation in companies based on the example of the United States, evolutionary and disruptive innovations, and consumer expectations. Pavlo Sheremeta shared his experience of working in government and explained the peculiarities of small and large businesses.
