Professions Day was held at NAU with the Faculty of Environmental Safety, Engineering and Technology

On April 16, 2024, the National Aviation University hosted the Professions Day, organized by the Educational and Research Institute of Education Development together with the Faculty of Environmental Safety, Engineering and Technology.

The purpose of the event was to familiarize future applicants with the structure and activities of FESET, specialties, training and scientific programs, special laboratories, international activities of academic staff and students, as well as active student life.

The speakers of theProfessions Day were:

• Oksana Tykhenko, deputy dean of FESET, doctor of technical sciences, professor;
• Tamara Dudar, head of the Department of Ecology, doctor of technical sciences, professor;
• Andrian Yavniuk, associate professor of the Department of Ecology;
• Lesia Pavliukh, professor of the Department of Ecology, PhD;
• Olena Gorbachova, ecologist, member of the Association of Sustainable Development Experts, expert of the National Agency for Educational Quality Assessment, co-founder of the sustainable development consulting company 17:59, PhD student at the Department of Ecology;
• Larysa Cherniak, associate professor of the Department of Ecology, Coordinator of the Baltic University Program (Sweden) at the National Aviation University, head of the EU-supported international grant project “European Integration of Environmental Standards for Civil Aviation in the Context of Sustainable Development” within the framework of the international Jean Monnet Modules Erasmus+ program.

The participants of the event learned that FESET NAU has five graduate departments and eighteen vocational programs. The faculty has modern scientific laboratories equipped for conducting laboratory work in specialized subjects. Specialists are trained at three levels of higher education: “Bachelor”, “Master”, “Ph.D”. The Department of Ecology has created English-speaking groups for students. The Erasmus+ academic mobility program has been introduced and is being successfully implemented, and student research groups are working.

The moderator of the event, Tetiana Petrovska, PhD in Education, director of the Center for Pre-Vocational Training and Gifted Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Education Development of the NAU, spoke about the advantages of the NAU, traditional and new career guidance activities and invited to participate in the round table “Expanding Students' Competencies through Cooperation with Stakeholders", which will be held on April 26 as part of the international specialized exhibition "Education and Career - 2024”.

The Professions Day provided an opportunity for 9-11th grade students of secondary schools (secondary school No. 67 in Kyiv, Gymnasium of Biotechnology in Kyiv). Gymnasium of Biotechnology No. 177 in Kyiv, specialized school No. 187 in Kyiv, Boyarka secondary school No. 1 of Kyiv Region, Kamianets-Podilskyi Lyceum “Slavutynka” of Khmelnytskyi Regional Council) to make an informed choice for further education.
