On March 25, 2024, a thematic event on "Management and service activities of Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport (Zhulyany)" was held at the Law Faculty for 4th year students of specialty 081 "Law".

At the invitation of Liubov Netska, head of the Department of Economic, Air and Space Law, the speakers of the event were Oleg Petrovskyi, director of the ICAO Institute of the National Aviation University, and his deputy Maryna Petrushchenko.

Oleg Petrovskyi, director of the ICAO Institute, who served as deputy Director General of Kyiv International Airport (Zhulyany) before the war, addressed the issues of civil aviation management in general and the issues of international airport management, public-private partnership, and the legal framework of the Kyiv International Airport (Zhulyany). He also outlined new directions in international airport management and challenges of the post-war period.

Maryna Petrushchenko, who headed the passenger transportation department of MASTER-AVIA LLC, which served Kyiv Airport (Zhulyany) before the war, familiarized the students with the peculiarities of airports and their services, the permit system, aviation safety requirements, airline certification and internships for their employees. In addition, she paid attention to contractual work related to the transportation of passengers, baggage and cargo. In her report, the speaker highlighted the role and importance of the ICAO's basic acts for the organization and implementation of aviation activities.

The information received by the students raised a number of questions to the invited guests, the main ones of which were answered in detail.

Since it was impossible to outline all the legal aspects of the international airport's activities within the allotted time, the parties agreed to hold further meetings and fruitful cooperation to ensure the safety of air transportation in the post-war period.
