Vasyl Panasiuk, head of the Main Center for Supporting Events in the Field of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, met with students and faculty of the Faculty of International Relations.

The speaker spoke about the activities of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS) and cooperation with state authorities to ensure the inviolability of the state border and protection of Ukraine's sovereign rights.

Vasyl Panasyuk noted that the SBGS cooperates with international institutions in the field of border security, including foreign diplomatic and consular missions. Therefore, to improve communication with foreign partners, the Main Center for Supporting Events in the Field of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration was established. Currently, the international technical assistance project is procuring communication, surveillance, and other technical equipment for border guards who protect Ukraine.

The SBGS representative told the students about his work experience, noting that he once headed one of the checkpoints on the Ukrainian border. He emphasized that the procedure for passing people across the border is constantly being modernized and improved. Updated inspection systems, scanning systems, and a single window for drivers have reduced border crossing times.

Vasyl Panasiuk answered numerous questions from students regarding the work of the Border Guard Service in the first days of the war, military training at the Border Guard Service, protection of the state border of Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and combat units of the SBGS.

He emphasized the importance of learning foreign languages and invited the graduates of the Faculty of Foreign Languages with knowledge of English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Romanian to join the SBGS to fulfill the goals of the state policy on European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
