A thematic lecture on World No Tobacco Day was held at NAU

The Department for Student Affairs of NAU together with the Public Association "Life" organized a lecture "Tobacco and Nicotine Free Ukraine" for students and staff of the university to mark the World No Tobacco Day. The meeting was held in the reading room of the University's Scientific and Technical Library.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by Vadym Petlin, chief physician of the Aviation Medical Centre of the National Aviation University, who stressed the importance of informing young people about the negative consequences of tobacco use.

Otto Stoyka, general practitioner, PhD in Medicine, and Dmytro Kopyra, executive director of the Public Association "Life", spoke to the audience about

- the impact of tobacco smoking on people and their environment;

- health consequences;

- the negative impact of using tobacco products, e-cigarettes, hookahs, etc.

The lecturers provided up-to-date statistics and results of representative surveys on the number of smokers and answered questions from the audience.

The event was attended by Svitlana Timkina, vice-rector for Humanitarian Policy and Innovations, who in her address urged young people to choose a healthy lifestyle and give up bad habits.
