NAU community is invited to attend a workshop by David Rubens, Executive Director of the Institute for Strategic Risk Management (London, UK)

Now we invite you to register for the workshop of David Rubens, Executive Director of the Institute for Strategic Risk Management (London, UK), "Crisis Management and the Hyper-Urban Environment: From Fragility to Resilience", which will be held on 02 June at 19:00.

Language of the workshop: English (without simultaneous translation)

During the event, David Rubens will talk about how global crises have traditionally been viewed through the prism of rural consequences: floods, droughts, famines, but in contemporary works, cities are the most vulnerable.

The panel will also consider the issue of urban resilience and some of the approaches needed to ensure that the cities of the near future remain functional in the face of ever-increasing pressures.

Guest speaker:

- Doctor of Science in Security and Risk Management; at the University of Portsmouth (2015) he defended his thesis on alternative command and control systems for strategic management and critical decision-making in complex crisis situations;

- Professor of the European Centre for Peace and Development at the United Nations University Peace University (Belgrade) and Program Director of the International Postgraduate Program in Strategic Risk and Crisis Management; Associate Professor at the Berlin School of Economics and Law, Master's Program in Security Management and Associate Professor of the MBA Program at the University of Gloucestershire;

- David Rubens deals with the management of highly complex systems related to city management and critical national infrastructure;

- in 2018, he founded the Institute for Strategic Risk Management (ISRM), which has established itself as a leading platform for academics, practitioners and policy makers in various fields related to security, risk and crisis management. As part of ISRM, Rubens has developed a number of UK-accredited strategic risk and crisis management training programs, which he delivers at seminars around the world to senior executives in government departments and agencies, corporate organisations and global NGOs.
