Recently, Oleh Boyko, a private notary of the Kyiv City Notarial District, held a master class "Institute of Notaries in Ukraine: Modern Challenges" for students of the NAU Law Faculty.

The purpose of the event was to familiarize students with the peculiarities of the notary profession, as in modern conditions the role of notaries in Ukraine is significantly increasing due to the development of civil turnover, expansion of the range of private property objects and the growing need for efficient and highly professional activities of notaries.

During his speech, Oleh Boyko demonstrated the role and importance of the notary institution as one of the human rights institutions of the state guarantee of the observance of the lawfulness of the rights and interests of each person. "In the context of the development of information and communication technologies, the notary profession faces new challenges that necessitate the application of the latest approaches to the organization of its activities. The work of a notary is the result of continuous development and improvement of skills. Being guided by common goals, we are solely responsible for the results of our work and the decisions we make," the speaker said.

The speaker outlined the main conditions for acquiring the right to practice notary, the principles of notary activity, among which the main ones are legality, independence, responsibility, justice, and highlighted the peculiarities of notary work under the legal regime of martial law.

It is worth noting that Oleh Boyko combines his practical activities with scientific ones - he is a postgraduate student of the Law Faculty and is working on his thesis research, as he believes that it is important for a notary to constantly improve, learn and implement advanced solutions and technologies in daily practice, despite the conservatism of this profession.

Summing up the meeting, Olena Makeieva, head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, thanked the speaker for his informative and interesting report, noting that understanding the role of the notary institution is important for future lawyers, as dedication to the profession turns knowledge and experience into confidence in the notary by Ukrainian society, high-quality performance of duties, and compliance with high standards of notaries is the key to the development of the legal system of Ukraine.
