New appointments: Faculty of Cybersecurity and Software Engineering is headed by Oleksandr Ponomarenko

On December 4, 2023, Volodymyr Shulрa, chairman of the NAU Reorganization Commission, acting rector, held a working meeting with the staff of the Faculty of Cybersecurity and Software Engineering of the NAU, during which he introduced the new acting dean of the faculty - candidate of technical sciences, associate professor and laureate of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Prize for Young Scientists Oleksandr Ponomarenko.

"The field of cybersecurity and software engineering is one of the most important and promising in the field of education. Especially now, a lot of attention and efforts are being paid to the development of this area and the improvement of training of highly qualified specialists. New challenges require modern approaches and the provision of up-to-date knowledge at a very high level. The choice of a person who will lead and manage the development of such an important faculty must also meet certain criteria and requirements," said Volodymyr Shulha in his speech." - Oleksandr Ponomarenko is a graduate of the National Aviation University, has two higher education degrees, is a PhD in Engineering, and an associate professor. What is important is that Oleksandr is a highly qualified specialist with successful practical experience in teaching, research, and administration. This will undoubtedly contribute to the efficiency of the faculty's functioning and development."

During the event, the heads of the faculty's departments discussed topical issues related to the priority areas of activity and the primary tasks of the faculty's development.

Oleksandr Ponomarenko thanked the team for effective interaction, open communication and promised to justify the high trust and make every effort to fulfill the urgent tasks.
