NAU FIR Student Scientific Society attended a master class on debates

The Faculty of International Relations of NAU had a master class from Roman Filipishyn, debate expert, educator and event-manager, for the members of the Faculty Student Scientific Society.

Roman Filipishyn gave an introductory training and spoke about the debate movement in Ukraine. In particular, the students learned what debates are, what their formats are and what rules they follow.

The speaker shared his own experience in debating and gave recommendations and advice on how to prepare a case and calculate the time for the speech. He drew the participants' attention to the important skills which will help them to be persuasive and argue their position correctly during the speech.

Roman Filipishyn answered the students' questions and stressed that he was ready to meet in such a format in future. Such measures help to improve the skills and abilities of students and enrich the general level of knowledge of young people.
