Visit of the students of the Faculty of Ground Facilities and Airfields to the V.G. Zabolotnyi State Scientific Architecture and Construction Library

The first-year students majoring in Computer Technologies of Airport Construction and Reconstruction of the Faculty of Ground Facilities and Airfields together with the head of the practice Oleksandra Shevchenko visited the V.G. Zabolotnyi State Scientific Architectural and Construction Library.

This library is a specialized institution of national importance in the field of construction and architecture. The bright and spacious building with an area of 3048.3 m² has four floors, which allows the library to fully perform its functions, including socio-cultural ones (holding presentations, conferences, seminars, round tables, book exhibitions, master classes, trainings, art events, etc.)

Visitors can enjoy an assembly hall, two reading rooms, a subscription desk, a spacious lobby, a children's playroom, a reading cafe, and other amenities. The book depositories are equipped with modern technical devices, climate control, fire and security systems that ensure the protection of the premises where the sectoral collection, as well as the collection of valuable and rare books, is stored.

Particular attention is paid to serving people with disabilities: a ramp, convenient access to the reading area, and a special bathroom have been installed. The library has created comfortable conditions for providing services to users and for the work and rest of library staff.

The tour took place on June 7, 2024. Students had the opportunity to see all the corners of the library. At the end of the tour, they expressed their sincere gratitude to the staff for the valuable knowledge and the opportunity to get to know the work and resources of this outstanding institution.
