The Department of Management and Administration is an independent structural unit of the National Aviation University and is created for the purpose of realization of the state policy in the field of higher education, ensuring the effective functioning of the NAU, operational management of the structural units of the University.
In its activities, the Department is guided by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, decrees and orders of the President of Ukraine, decrees and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Statute of the National Aviation University, regulatory documents of the NAU.
Main tasks and functions of the Department of Management and Administration:
• Ensuring the organizational and administrative activities of the rector, the rectorate, assistance to administrative activity of other subdivisions of the NAU.
• Monitoring of strategic activity of the faculties, institutes, territorially separate educational structural subdivisions of the University.
• Control over the implementation by the structural subdivisions of the University of tasks defined by the laws of Ukraine, acts of central executive authorities, orders, orders and instructions of the NAU guidance, and other documents related to the activities of the University.
• Coordination of the cooperation of the structural subdivisions of the NAU with the implementation of the security of educational services.
• Interaction with other structural subdivisions of the University in solving issues within its competence.
Department in accordance with the tasks assigned to it:
• Organizes protocol support the activities of the rectorate , makes suggestions on improving the style and methods of administrative and managerial work.
• Summarizes the plans of the university's ractorate and structural subdivisions, monitors and analyzes the implementation of managerial decisions.
• Provides preparation and conducting of meetings of the rectorate, weekly operational meetings with the heads of the structural subdivisions of the NAU.
• Summarizes information on monitoring the implementation of legislation, orders, commissions of the rector, etc.
• Coordinates and provides interaction between the structural subdivisions of the NAU on the organization of preparation and holding of university-wide events with the participation of the rector of the NAU.
• Make suggestions on improving the activities of the NAU and its structural divisions on staff supply and its reserve.
• Develops and participates in the preparation of legal and regulatory instruments and analytical materials on behalf of NAU leadership.
• Provides organizational, consultative and informational support for the interaction of NAU with faculties, institutes and territorially separated educational structural units of the NAU on the prevention and counteraction of corruption.
• Facilitates the introduction of modern forms of work organization, makes suggestions regarding effective management of the University's activities.

Strategic planning is the basis of success
The importance of strategic planning, the main stages of strategy development, errors at the stage of strategic planning - this was discussed at the seminar "Strategic planning and decision making in the field of higher education" for the leadership of the university.
Sergiy Kravchenko, Doctor of Sciences in Public Administration, Associate Professor of the Taurida National University. Named by V.Vernadsky spoke about the models of organization of strategy development and directions on which to build the strategy of higher education. According to his words, all eight main directions (educational, information-methodical, scientific, innovative, educational, public-educational, professional development, person-formation) are important characteristics of the activity of institutions of higher education. The speaker focused on the timing of the strategy, its scope, as well as on the strategic issues and goals of the university.
The rector of the National Aviation University Volodymyr Isaenko took part in the workshop, who noted that "the legislation is constantly being updated and we should study continuously", therefore, there will be nine more advanced training courses for managerial staff during the year.

Seminar "Psychology of Management. Conflict Management»
The components of the conflict and its causes, techniques for removing emotional stress, perceptions of criticism and conflict resolution - such topics were discussed at the seminar "Psychology of Management. Conflict Management ". This is the second time in the training course for the management of the National Aviation University.
The training for management of the University was conducted by psychologist, business coach, consulting specialist, author and manager of the project "School of Life Success", director of the Center for Innovative Management Technologies Nataliia Maksiuta.
The speaker emphasized the resolution of conflict situations in the team, the development of skills for constructive conflict resolution and the development of techniques for resolving conflict situations.

Training "Modern Approaches to the Training of Aerospace Specialists in Accordance with ICAO Standards and EASA Requirements"
Director of the ICAO Institute Halyna Suslova held a training on "Modern approaches to the training of aerospace specialists according to ICAO standards and EASA requirements". This is the third time in the training courses for the management of the National Aviation University.
Halyna Andriivna emphasized the implementation of ICAO standards and key documents of the organization, spoke about the activities of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). She noted that ICAO implements general requirements for the content of training aviation specialists, develops strategies for preparing and setting competencies (technical, personal) necessary for decision-making, creating a clear system of training and retraining of aviation specialists.
The director of the ICAO Institute noted that pilot training at the PPL and CPL levels has been started at NAU, and an International Pilot Training Center is being set up, which will operate in accordance with the EASA Regulations.

Seminar "Media Education and Media Communication and their Impact on Governance Decisions"
The goal and purpose of corporate communications, the creation of effective news, strengthening the sense of corporate responsibility - the main topics of the seminar "Media education and media communication and their influence on the adoption of management decisions." This is the fourth time in the National Aviation University Management Training Program.
The training was conducted by the teacher of the Institute of Journalism of the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, media expert Yuliia Nesteriak, for the leadership of the university.
The lecturer emphasized the rules of crisis communication and the factors determining the news value of information. Yuliia Mykolaivna shared the methods of creating news through which the media will be interested in this or that event of the university.

Seminar "Foreign Experience in Management Activities in UK Higher Education Institutions"
The current state of higher education in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, government support for research and business grants are the main topics of the seminar "Foreign Management Experience in UK Higher Education Institutions". This is the fifth training course for the management of the National Aviation University.
The University leadership training was given by associate professor of the Department of Sustainable Urban Development of the Faculty of Continuing Education, Oxford University (UK), director of doctoral programs, doctor of philosophy at Cambridge University, Vlad Mykhnenko.
The lecturer emphasized that the reputation of universities and their attractiveness for staff and students, especially foreign ones, depends on the quality of research. He also spoke about cross-subsidization, which allows the implementation of educational and research programs, supports the development of state policy priorities, and provides criteria used to assess investment in business..
