The fourth day of the NAU Aerial Surveying Summer School

On June 6, within the framework of the NAU Aerial Surveying Summer School, a meeting was held with specialists from leading companies KMS and Kyivstar.

KMS LLC is the official master distributor of the world-famous Trimble Navigation company in Ukraine. Representatives of KMS Dmytro Myzin, Oleg Glushko and Vitaliy Glushchenko demonstrated modern high-tech Trimble surveying equipment: two GNSS receivers, a robotic total station and a laser scanner. The guests clearly demonstrated the operation of the latest Trimble technologies that automate and facilitate the work of surveyors and land managers.

Mykhailo Turyanytsia from Kyivstar spoke about a large-scale project to create an RTK (Real Time Kinematic) system consisting of a network of Trimble ground-based GNSS stations. This system provides high-precision positioning with an accuracy of 2.5 cm. "Kyivstar quickly deployed the RTK system thanks to its existing network of cellular base stations with uninterruptible power supplies.

Oleg Glushko and Dmytro Myzin explained that interference with GNSS caused by cellular base stations is successfully overcome by Trimble's unique technologies.

The meeting lasted more than two hours, with students actively asking questions and sharing their impressions despite the lack of lighting and a dead charging station.
