The Faculty of Linguistics and Social Communications hosted a poetry evening "As It Is"

On March 21, 2024, on the occasion of World Poetry Day, the Faculty of Linguistics and Social Communications held a poetry evening "As It Is" at the premises of the NAU Scientific and Technical Library.

The event was welcomed by the acting vice-rector for humanitarian policy and innovations Maryna Petchenko, who congratulated the students and staff of the faculty on the holiday, wished them creative inspiration and emphasized the importance of the Ukrainian word today, in our difficult times.

Natalia Melnyk, acting dean of the faculty, also joined the greetings and wished the students to continue creating, writing, and developing their talents.

The poetry festival was attended by Tetiana Petrovska, poet, director of the Center for Pre-Professional Training and Gifted Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Education Development of the National Aviation University, PhD in Pedagogy, member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, winner of the Hryhoriy Kosynka Literary Prize. Tetyana Petrovska inspired all those present with her incredible works and also presented songs based on her poems.  We are sincerely grateful to Tetyana Petrovska for the motivation that each participant, each student who is just starting his or her creative path, felt.

The event was followed by performances of original works by FLSC students, which formed the basis of the collection of poetry by students and staff of the faculty "As It Is". The editor-in-chief and initiator of the collection was Lesya Khomenko-Semenova, the FLSC responsible for working with students.

The authors of the collection are:

• Lolita Bohynya - head of the Creative Association of Students and Postgraduates of the FLSC, 3rd year student of the Practical Psychology program;
• Oles Yatsenyuk - 3rd year student of the Practical Psychology program;
• Oleksandra Hrynevych - 3rd year student of the Practical Psychology program;
• Natalia Shapenko - 3rd year student of the Practical Psychology program;
• Vita Kramarchuk - 2nd year student of the Practical Psychology program;
• Valeria Bohachova - 3rd year student of the Practical Psychology program;
• Daryna Gruzynska - 2nd year student of the program "Information, Library and Archival Affairs".

The event was also attended by students of the Faculty of International Relations, who also read their own poetry.

We have known its value since Taras.
The word will always be among us, as in the immortal works of Ivan Franko and Lesya Ukrainka, as in the unique songs of Volodymyr Ivasyuk and Mykola Mozgovyi, as in the sacred texts of Kuzma and Svyatoslav Vakarchuk.
We are the very WORD, the Word of the Ukrainian people, which will never betray, which will always be victorious!"
