NAU builds partnership with Ivan Franko National University of Lviv

On February 26, 2024, a delegation of the National Aviation University of Ukraine headed by the chairman of the Commission on Reorganization of the NAU, acting rector Volodymyr Shulga, made a working visit to Lviv to meet with the rectors of the three leading universities of the city and Ukraine, as well as to sign cooperation agreements with them. It is worth noting that until now, the NAU had no agreements with any Lviv universities.

The head of the NAU was accompanied by the NAU acting vice-rector for research Oleksandr Korchenko, the dean of the Faculty of International Relations Yuriy Voloshyn, and the assistant rector Serhiy Kondratyuk. The plan of the visit was to get acquainted with the material and technical base and organization of the educational process at the university, to communicate and exchange experience with colleagues, to discuss the prospects of cooperation, etc.

An important stage of the trip was a visit to Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, one of the oldest and most prestigious classical universities in Ukraine.

It is worth noting that the academic staff of the two universities have long had a partnership. At the personal level, the drivers of deepening cooperation between universities were Oleksandr Korchenko and Vitaliy Kukharskyi, vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work and informatization of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

The Lviv team organized a very interesting program. The NAU representatives visited classrooms and laboratories, inspected the halls of the Academic Council, meetings and receptions, as well as shelters used by students and faculty during air raid alerts.

Ivan Dyak, dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, and Petro Vengerskyi, acting head of the Department of Cyber Security, met to agree on a plan of joint activities until the end of the year.

The event concluded with the signing of the "Cooperation Agreement" between the National Aviation University and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The relevant document was signed by acting rector of NAU Volodymyr Shulga and rector of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Melnyk.

The main goal is to implement joint scientific and innovative projects, research in the field of cybersecurity, joint scientific and educational activities, information exchange, academic mobility, promotion of professional development and training, etc.

Commenting on the signing of the agreement, Volodymyr Melnyk emphasized that cooperation with leading higher education institutions of Ukraine and the world is one of the important priorities for Lviv University, as such interaction not only expands the educational and scientific opportunities of the University's teachers and students, but also contributes to the social, economic and technological progress of Ukraine.

In turn, the acting rector of the NAU expressed his deep gratitude to the leadership of Lviv University for the warm welcome and well-organized program of the visit. "We had a great time and fruitful communication. We are interested in deepening our multilevel cooperation with Lviv University and maximizing the involvement of the entire spectrum of participants in the training process - teachers, researchers and students," said Volodymyr Shulga.
