NAU co-organized the XI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Overcoming Language and Communication Barriers: Education, Science, Culture"

On November 17, 2023, the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation of the Faculty of Linguistics and Social Communications of NAU together with Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, Uman, the University of Euleville (Euleville, Sweden), the University of Zagreb (Zagreb, Croatia) and the Scientific Zagreb, Croatia) and the Research Institute of the German Language (Wiesbaden, Germany) organized and held the XI International Scientific and Practical Online Conference "Overcoming Language and Communication Barriers: Education, Science, Culture".

The conference addressed and discussed the fundamental problems of modern higher education, in particular the challenges posed by the conditions of the training process during the post-pandemic and wartime period: the mental health of higher education students in Ukraine and the world, the issue of virtual education, its role and place in the modern educational space, trends and innovations in the theory and methodology of teaching foreign languages in non-language universities.

The conference was held on the Zoom platform, which allowed us to significantly expand the range of participants: doctors and candidates of sciences in philology, pedagogy, psychology, philosophy, cultural studies, as well as teachers, researchers, young scientists from Ukraine and abroad - Sweden, Germany, the USA, Croatia, Finland, Italy - were able to join and participate in the discussion of topical issues related to the conference.

Olena KOVTUN, professor, head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation, National Aviation University, Nataliia LADOGUBETS, associate professor, dean of the Faculty of Linguistics and Social Communications, NAU, Jana KUWINEN, PhD, head of the Department of Humanities, Faculty of Education and Business Studies, Evele University, Anzhelika KOKARIEVA, PhD in Pedagogy, associate professor, deputy dean for Research and International Activities, Faculty of Linguistics and Social Communications, NAU.

The conference featured a master class "AI tools for learning and teaching" conducted by Oksana ZABOLOTNA, professor of the Department of Foreign Languages at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University.

During the plenary and sectional sessions, the conference participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with interesting reports

The goal of the conference - to establish contacts between scientists, teachers, linguists and linguists from different countries, to exchange scientific results and research experience - was achieved. The most important scientific results are published in the conference proceedings and will be presented in the text of the Resolution.
