“F Air” (Prague) Airlines Appeals to Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal over Attempts to Reorganize and Liquidate NAU: Asks for Support of the University and its Preservation

“F Air” (Prague), one of the leading airlines in the Czech Republic, has appealed to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal to support the National Aviation University and preserve its status as a national university.
In a letter to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, “F Air” emphasized the importance of preserving NAU and, accordingly, the university's ties with foreign partners and noted the following:
"In October 2022, during the visit to Ukraine of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Mr. Petr Fiala, and his meetings with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, an agreement was reached to support Ukraine both during the fighting and to rebuild Ukraine after the war.
One of the components of the powerful assistance package provided by the Czech Republic to Ukraine is funding and practical training for 20 pilots from the National Aviation University.
This assistance is intended to solve an important problem facing Ukraine in the context of full-scale Russian aggression: due to the war, Ukraine has no practical flight training for pilot students.
This project is being implemented on the basis of a decision to allocate assistance to Ukraine, in accordance with the Resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic of April 26, 2023. No. 282 "On the provision of a monetary donation to Ukraine for the purpose of training Ukrainian transport pilots in the Czech Republic", in the amount of CZK 22 million under the Humanitarian, Stabilization, Development and Economic Assistance to Ukraine Program. The project is also being implemented under a donation agreement signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the National Aviation University.
"F Air” expresses concern about the intentions of the Ukrainian government to reorganize NAU, which will lead to the liquidation of the educational institution and the loss of the NAU brand, which is recognized and significant for many countries. In addition, this will lead to legal obstacles in the implementation of the project to assist Ukraine by the Government of the Czech Republic, “F Air” emphasizes.
“F Air” calls on the Government of Ukraine to support the staff of the National Aviation University in its efforts to preserve the university and the NAU brand, which has been fruitfully developed for over 20 years, so that the institution can continue to educate highly competitive, competent aviation professionals for Ukraine and the world.
