Problems of realization of the state policy in the field of information security of Ukraine

On February 16, 2021, the Faculty of Law hosted a presentation of the collective English-language monograph “Problems of Implementing State Policy in the Sphere of Information Security of Ukraine” published in Canada.

The monograph is devoted to the study of problems of state policy in the field of information security of Ukraine. Interest in this topic is especially important, given the ability of information networks to influence the basic institutions of the state and society, in particular, and information security. The authors substantiate the position on the introduction of new information and communication technologies as the basis of socio-economic and scientific and technological progress - the informatization of society.

During the presentation, the editor-in-chief, the Dean of the Faculty of Law Iryna Sopilko noted: "Transformation of the information configuration of the world poses new challenges to researchers and requires the development of new approaches to information society development and defining the role of the state in this process.".

The main task of legal information security in modern conditions is the transformation of the content of information policy on information security into the quality of information legislation, the authors of the monograph proposed a draft Law of Ukraine "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on protection of rights of citizens and the state in the sphere of information relations."

Considerable attention in the monograph is paid to the areas of counteracting information threats and their impact on the formation of national identity. To avoid such threats in the field of education, culture, science, religion, the authors of the publication proposed the "Concept of information understanding of culture."
