2,200 FRESHMEN IN NAU

On August the 31^st there was held a solemn ceremony of initiation into freshmen at the National Aviation University. For this ceremony the students of all educational institutes of the University gathered at the Square of Knowledge near the Center of Culture and Arts.

At the gala event all greeted honored guests: Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Eugene Kravtsov, Deputy General Director of “International Airport “Kyiv” Oleg Petrovsky, Acting General Director of “International Airport “Boryspil” Eugene Dyhne, national deputy of Ukraine Andriy Teteruk, Deputy Chairman of Solomianska district state administration Olena Horpynchenko and Head of Department for Family, Youth and Sport in Solomianska district state administration Iryna Kustova.

Acting Rector of NAU Tamara Ivanova’s speech opened the meeting. She greeted the students and wished them inspiration and rich student life, saying, “You are the future glory of not only our university, but the whole Ukraine. I congratulate each of you within the walls of the National Aviation University. Be proud of becoming students. This is a step to form your adult life and your future fate. To determine the profession is extremely important. Save what our graduates have left for you. Be worthy children of your parents who raised you, worthy students of the school that taught you and praiseworthy students of our university.

National deputy of Ukraine Andriy Teteruk welcomed freshmen in the university and wished creative and successful student life. National deputy, in particular, called upon remembering those heroes who fight day and night for our peaceful sky and defend Ukraine.

Acting General Director of “International Airport" Boryspil” Eugene Duhne said in his welcoming remarks, “You have become members of a large aircraft family. I appeal to each of you to study well. Do not be afraid, become the best and build your career. Currently, aviation is experiencing very difficult times, and you are called to make a difference. I greet you on behalf of four thousand staff of “Boryspil” airport with the beginning of your student life and hope that each of you will help in the revival of Ukrainian aviation. “

"Aviation is probably the leading transport industry in our state, and “International Airport “Kyiv” is a very important part of its life, “said the First Deputy Director Oleh Petrovsky. Oleg Mykolaiovich said that the airport had been internship for specialists of the National Aviation University for many years and he invited all the future aviators to practical training within Airport “Kyiv”. He remembered his own student years at NAU and advised all the freshmen not to waste their years of training.

A very exciting moment was the moment of silence honoring the memory of Defenders who gave their lives in the East of our country in the fight for our independence and peace.

During the official part of the event Acting Rector Ivanova Tamara handed “the key of the university” to freshmen as a symbol of new knowledge, peaks of science and life victories.

After the official part, the freshmen were welcomed by creative teams of the Center of Culture and Arts of the National Aviation University and students: with solo performances, including dance ensemble “Flight”, dance club “Diamond-Elite”, team-member of the Kiev League of Laughter “Light of Distant Planets” and by solo performers - Vlad Pavlov, Kateryna Romanchuk and a graduate of the University Lali Ergemlidze.

Consecration of freshmen is a wonderful tradition of the aviation university. We wish all the freshmen to actively participate in the life and development of the university. Let the gained knowledge become a happy ticket to accomplish your dreams.
