The first meeting of the Supervisory Board of the National Aviation University was held on October 31, 2016.

While opening the inaugural meeting, Oleg Hladkovsky, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NAU, First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said: “It is great honor and I feel responsibility to head such a respected body. I promise to use all my experience and skills to ensure the future development of the NationalAviationUniversity and to implement main tasks assigned to the Supervisory Board. I am deeply convinced that we will create a strong team of associates, combine efforts to help the university overcome the crisis and ensure its work in the legal field, in accordance with the current legislation.”

According to the agenda, a number of important organizational, managerial and strategic issues were examined.

Karpuntsov Valery, National Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, was unanimously elected the Secretary of the Supervisory Board.

The most important issue in the agenda was to define the priority steps for the activity and development of the university during 2017-2018.

The members of the Supervisory Board paid special attention to the discussion of the approaches in forming the Concept and Overall Strategy of NAU for 2017-2027 and approved the main stages in preparing these documents.

The meeting was attended by Acting Rector of NAU Volodymyr Isayenko, who said that the new staff of the Supervisory Board has strong intellectual and human resources, and it will certainly have a positive influence on future activities and development of the university.

It should be noted that the new staff and the new chairman of the Supervisory Board of NAU were approved by the Order of the Minister of Education and Science Liliya Grynevich (on 20 October, 2016). The Board includes authoritative representatives of the military and industrial complex, aviation industry, NGOs and MPs.

Under current law, the Supervisory Board, in particular, must promote the development of the university, provide investment activity, and help in establishing international relations and cooperation with the authorities.
