Today at the 41st session of the Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, the Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet, Rector of NAU Maxym Lutskyi, Vice-President of ENAC Nicolas Cazalis, Head of International Cooperation Mission DGAC Sylvain Four and Director Yuriy Pavlyuk met. Some participants joined online.

The subject of the conversation was the issue of training of aviation industry specialists under conditions of military and post-war situation in Ukraine.

Ukraine has always been a country with a high aviation potential and has trained qualified specialists who were in demand worldwide.

Such highly specialized specialists of aviation industry were trained in Ukraine by several universities, among them National Aviation University, M.E. Zhukovsky "Kharkiv Aviation Institute", Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of Air Force.

Maxym Lutskyi told the community that 2 Kharkiv universities were destroyed because of Russian aggression. Slovyansk Professional College, Vasylkiv Professional College and partially the NAU Flight Academy in Kropivnitsky were lost, but despite everything, we have to continue training such specialists and maintain the country's potential.

Due to military operations, all airports in Ukraine are closed, which means that students have no opportunity to gain practical skills.

That is why all the questions that were discussed during the meeting were about new opportunities for training pilots and other aviation specialists. Namely, organization of online training, exchange of Ukrainian graduate students with National School of Civil Aviation (ENAC) in Toulouse (which is the only aviation-oriented university in Europe, belonging to DGAC), free training of Ukrainian instructors, who need to renew their certificates, etc.

The result of the meeting was the creation of a working group and the agreement to have additional consultations at the level of NAU and ENAC managers.

NAU Rector Maxym Lutskyi thanked the participants for their support and expressed hope for active cooperation.
