A charity tournament in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in NAU

On September 24 in the National Aviation University sports complex a charity 3x3 basketball tournament in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, particularly the 72nd Brigade was held.

The game was initiated by NAU alumni and Mykola Velychenko, the senior lecturer of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Training of Faculty of Linguistics and Social Communications and the basketball team coach.

Eight teams took part in the tournament: 37 people, 21 of whom were NAU alumni.

The Head of the Department Ivan Vrzesnevskiy welcomed the sportsmen. Also, the participants of the competition saw the video address of Anton Minajlenko, the graduate of the NAU basketball team, who presently defends his Motherland in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The participants played 16 games, as a result of which:

- first place was won by the Curband team;

- second place won the team FWT;

- third place went to the team "Shtopke";

- the honorable fourth place was taken by the team of NAU, which included students of our university.

The young players of NAU had a chance to learn from the more experienced basketball players and demonstrate their skills, unity and thirst for victory.

Besides, the basketball players, graduates of NAU who by different circumstances are in the USA, Poland, Belgium and Bulgaria, joined the charity tournament.

We are proud of our alumni who help the Ukrainian defenders in such a difficult time.
