We are successive allies of NAU - Embassy of Canada in Ukraine

The Commercial Department representatives of the Canadian Embassy in Ukraine visited National Aviation University in the frame of working visit and met with the University administration. 

The Ukrainian side was represented by, V. Isaienko, the Acting Rector of NAU, V. Kharchenko, Vice-Rector for scientific work, G. Suslova, Director of the ICAO Institute, V. Timokhin, Head of the International Relations Department. The Canadian side was represented by the Chairman of the Commercial Department of the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine A. Barbolet, the Commercial Adviser J. Mardak, and the Assistant to the Chairman of the Commercial Department L. Zhilina.

Representing the scientific and educational potential of the University, V. Isaienko informed foreign diplomats that about 25,000 students are studying in NAU, including more than 1,300 foreigners from 55 countries. In addition, more than 1,800 students are taught in English, among them 119 foreigners, citizens of India, Iran, Pakistan, China, Turkey, Nigeria, Gambia, Sudan, Lebanon and Malaysia.

The International activities of the University are aimed at establishing and developing international relations and cooperation in the field of science, education and other fields, with international organizations and foundations, seeking foreign partners, creating conditions for cooperation with foreign educational and research institutions, including the Canadian ones, "said Volodymyr Isaienko. - Last year the NAU delegation had visited the ICAO Headquarters in Montreal (Canada) and Canadore-college (North Bay)with a working visit. Together with this educational institution, NAU is developing a Consortium Agreement, which is established to develop educational programs for students of both sides to get the double diploma, namely Canadore-college students can have the opportunity to continue their studies at the National Aviation University to obtain the Master's level, and graduates of the Ukrainian University can be trained and receive practical skills on the basis of the Canadorecollege and, of course, get a Canadian diploma or a flight license.

Within the framework of the meeting, the NAU management reported on joint projects with Canadian Universities McGill (Montreal) and Concordia (Montreal) in the field of science and education. Also, it was about the joint projects with Canadore-college on the development of UAV, IT products, cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, co-publications of science materials, and on the implementation of environmental projects.

“Our main areas of cooperation are, first of all, the further development of relations with Canadore-college, the development of relations with the Universities of McGill and Concordia”, - said A. Barbolet. “We need to make certain efforts to ensure that our intentions are implemented in practice. I want to assure you that, in the person of the Canadian Embassy in Ukraine, the National Aviation University has consistent allies and we will help you to implement your projects”.
