Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation

On May, 8, 2016 the representatives of the National Aviation University traditionally laid flowers to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Shuliavka cemetery and paid tribute to fallen soldiers at a wreath-laying ceremony.

The action honored the heroism of Ukrainian people in World War II, its significant contribution to the victory of the Antihitler coalition, the testimony of respect for all the fighters against Nazism, perpetuating the memory of fallen soldiers and victims of war and of war crimes, deportation and crimes against humanity.

The event was joined by representatives of the Student Council of NAU, Department of Military Training of NAU, Vitaliy Pastuhov, a delegate from the Council of Veterans of NAU, Chairman of CV and Viktor Kaltygin, a veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, retired lieutenant colonel.

Vitaly Pastukhov, Chairman of the Veterans of NAU, told about the fight for the liberation of the capital of Ukraine from the nazis. At the end of the meeting, all people commemorated the perished with a minute of silence.
